Spiritual Walking

Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.

I often find myself exercising more as the weather is warmer, so the past two days I walked around the lakes and was awed by creation yet again. I love seeing the Canadian geese, woodpeckers, squirrels and the tall tress around me - I just had to soak it in. Glorious design by a great Maker! So I stopped midtrack in my jogging and started praying and the verse that has been on my mind recently is Ephesians 5:15. A spiritual walking through our life and He is watching, guiding, our steps throught the Spirit if we ask Him too. The wisdom of God is here in front of us - His word. Father may I become wise in the way I walk, speak and act. May you make the most of my time and continue the work you've begun in me.

note on ibuprofen

So I was told by a fellow nurse the other day: "you should give food when administering ibuprofen" who knew! I'm now educated, ibuprofen potential gastric bleeding. check.

I did apply to the fifth floor RN position, a pediatric unit. Tomorrow will be my first dayshift at the new computer documentation - Caredoc I hope all goes smoothly John reminds me just pray.
I just recently re-learned that Jesus prays on our behalf. Romans 8:27 "and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because he intercedes for the saints according to the will of God." I am so thankful for His intercession, Jesus knows what's best for his saints.

Trust in the LORD

This is often a simple command that happens to be a harder one to put into practice for me. I've also observed it in others...when finances fall short, when (I/we) don't have a job, you fill in the blanks. Why cannot I just trust HIM? Hasn't he been faithful before this! Yes and he remains to be faithful. I got a call today from the Nurse Recruitment office at Duke that I no longer have an interview. Oh okay. What then do I fear. Nope. I took a good look at my heart today and found some joy without the interview - where will it take me (should I say "God take me" excuse me). Perhaps to just the right job he has in mind. It wasn't until something else happened that I started to let fear creep in. Lord thank you for being a faithful and loving God who cares about my comings and goings.
This is the passage of scripture I read today. Galatians chapt. 5 especially verse 26 "Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires."
Wow I need to dwell in that mind-set. The earlier verses say For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit...
Everything contrary to Spirit which includes fear, faithlessness, and a lifestyle not trusting her Savior.
I want my desires to become one of a holy lifestyle and living to glorify my Father. I hope I too can repeat Paul's words I have crucified the sinful nature...and I'm not living for myself.

Mike leaves for Camp

This morning Mike left for Glorieta New Mexico. This conference center is in the mountains it's beautiful there. Last summer I was there one week. It was Glorieta's first time having Centri-Kid!
Mike is working in the kitchen/dining hall along with his other friends from FBC - Elise & Carissa Burk, and Shaianne McCarthy.
We said our goodbyes in the drive-way (at 6am) but also last night. I am so happy for him and especially when he gets back from camp he'll be heading out on his own to the U of A. Wow! This was a sad departure because I too will be leaving on June 4th for North Carolina so we might not see each other until Thanksgiving? God knows. Deut. 10 what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the LORD's commands

Reflections on 1 Samuel

Jonathan was gently asking his father, King Saul, what is David's sin that he should be put to death. Nothing. Earlier the scriptures say and the Lord left him (Saul). However, Saul becomes jealous of highly favored David. His son Jonathan acts as a mediator between his father and David, reminding him of David defeating the Philistines, and his innocence and duties he has preformed for the king. And Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan. Saul swore, As the Lord lives, he shall not be put to death. And Jonathan called, David and Jonathan reported to him all these things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence as before. Here I was rejoicing because Christ is my mediator on my behalf. I choose sin but Jesus Christ has purchased my soul for eternal salvation and I can enter my LORD's presence! Christ has reconciled the judgement I deserve and I come unashamed, washed clean before my King.

Romans 5:8 and 9
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.

April already?

Tomorrow is my dad's birthday. My mother and I are both very aware of his love of apple pie! We purchased some of their Hawaii pictures they took while vacationing in Nov-Dec.
Arizona spring weather is so nice recently it's been really windy but the warmer weather starts to cheer me up. Another source of joy is God's word. Ps. 77:11-12 "I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds." Earlier Joshua crosses the Jordan river and God continually wants us to build a memorial of some-sorts to teach our children what God does for us. (In Deut. chapter 6)
My blessings our indeed numerous and I have been reminded to praise Him for them with thanksgiving. He reminded me of the many people that are an encouragement in my faith. I also hope to "impress them on [my] children" someday. God willingly and lovingly sets memorial stones in my path so I will be reminded of His glory worked out in my life's journeys.

Teamwork and Christ's body

It's reality when I go to work and pple who gossip, and demean others - it's a team effort isn't it? The housekeeping is busy and very helpful they usually go about their work without any words of affirmation, or being told to do something from my observation they get their job done. The other pple working with me don't speak much to them. Talk about the lowly pple on this earth. This saddens me. How come we think we are better than them? We would have to clean it up if they didn't so they are part of the team too. 1 Cor. 12:12 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. (vs. 25) so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. (vs. 27) Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

Mary's Song

"And Mary said,
"My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
for he who is might has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
And his mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud
in the thoughts of their hearts;
he has brought down the mighty from
their thrones and exalted those of humble estate;
he has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent empty away.
He has helped his servant Israel,
in remembrance of his mercy,
as he spoke to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his offspring forever."
